Help!

Would anyone like to go snowbaording at Cairngorm this weekend?

Help! I've been offered a lift up to Cairngorm this weekend with a non-skiier. I really want to snowboard this weekend if the snow stays.

So, would any Husi snowboarding peeps who are not axe murderers want to share accomodation with me on Friday and Saturday night and board or ski with me on Saturday and Sunday?

Yes, I'm a sad lonely nomates. All my snowboarding friends are busy this weekend and I don't think it'll be much fun doing the whole thing on my own.

If anyone is interested then leave a comment and I'll get back to you with details.

Random as it may seem, I'm not daft enough to go along with just anyone who reads my post on teh intarweb, but if you're a regular poster, or a friend of a friend then I'll probably trust you.

Wanna snowboard!

Although, I'm a bit bruised from being up at the Lecht on Tuesday...

I'm still waiting on the snow report for this morning. It looks like it's going to be a very mild weekend. It there's only going to be a few runs open then I don't think it'll be worth it.

I was up there two weeks ago and most of the mountain was open.

How are you fixed for transport? Would you be available to get to Aviemore yourself? Do you have a car, as that would help greatly for driving up to the snow each day, otherwise there's a bus to the slopes.

If we've got a car between us then we can look for accomodation a bit futher out, however if we're relying on busses to get us up the mountain then we can only get accomodation in the hotels and b&bs in the middle of Aviemore.

You'll need to pay for your own lift passes and equipment hire, and half the accomodation. If we can get a self catering place then food will be cheap.

If you're really interested then email me this morning or talk to me on MSN. The address for both is wrangham underscore mark at hotmail dot com

Agree with your email I'm afriad by rdskutter (2.00 / 0) #5 Thu Mar 17, 2005 at 03:25:02 AM EST
Currently there's only the Cas open, which is a great run, but the queues will be murder if everyone's queing up to use the Cas T-bar.

They're hinting that the West Wall poma might open later on which would mean that the M2 run would be open. But with no snow forecast for the next few days and soaring temperatures I've got no idea how much snow will be left by Saturday.

The webcam pictures don't look promising either. http://www.winternet-scotland.co.uk/webcams/cairngorm_mountain_webcams.htm

Thanks for replying anyway, shame about the weather.

Bit annoying. I've had two days at the lecht this year, and I spent most of one of them teaching my sister. Since I haven't boarded in a couple of years I was only just getting my balance again by the middle of the second day. Would have been nice to get to some longer runs to stretch my legs a bit. The lecht's a bit cramped once you get past the complete beginner stage.
